A former Greene County resident was sentenced to prison for two incidents involving a child.
According to court documents, 25-year-old Kage Gordon received an adjudicated guilty conviction for two separate incidents. The first was for a Class D Felony for willful injury resulting in bodily injury and an aggravated misdemeanor for child endangerment, substantial risk. Gordon was ordered to serve five years in prison for the felony charge and two years in prison for the aggravated misdemeanor, to be served concurrently.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a family member of the infant victim reported a few incidents of physical and verbal abuse that occurred in 2019 when they were living in Scranton.
Court documents also show that Gordon received an adjudicated guilty conviction for a Class D Felony for conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony. He was sentenced to five years in prison, to be served consecutively with the other five year sentence for a total of ten years.
According to the criminal complaint, the Jefferson Police Department investigated a few incidents that happened between April 6th and May 1st, where Gordon admitted to creating an alias on a social media platform and was talking with the victim’s mother, who shared photos and a video of her engaging in sex acts with a young child present. The mother claimed that she didn’t know it was her husband who had the fake account and she was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to a felony for sexual exploitation of a minor.
In both cases, Assistant County Attorney Laura Snider argued for the consecutive prison sentences and the defense attorney wanted probation. District Court Judge Christopher Polking agreed with Snider.
