One Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School choir student was selected as an alternate for a respected event. 

This past Saturday were the auditions for the Iowa High School Music Association All-State Festival. AC/GC Vocal Director Kelsey Dinkla tells Raccoon Valley Radio that one student was selected as an alternate–Justin Reinhart. Dinkla says that the audition process this year was difficult with music that was meant for a graduate or professional level. 

“Obviously All-tate music should be challenging, but this year just presented a whole list of opportunities to be very difficult. So we had 13 students this year, which is the most I’ve ever had, auditioned for the course, and I’m so proud of them because they stuck it out from start to finish.”

Dinkla also says Owen Dinkla was able to get a call back during auditions. The All-State Festival will take place on the campus of Iowa State University from November 17th-19th.
