Dallas Center – Grimes volleyball will be facing a difficult challenge with a trip to state on the line tonight when they will travel to the number 1 team in 4A in Cedar Rapids – Xavier, as the Mustangs will be looking to put up some strong numbers. DCG comes into the match with a 20-16 while Xavier will enter with a 29-4 record.

DCG is coming off of a 3-0 sweep over Ballard while Cedar Rapids – Xavier was able to put up a 3-1 win over Waverly – Shell Rock.

The last time that these two met was in 2020 at the state tournament, with Xavier able to put up the sweep in that match. Jillian Janssen and Haily Leinbach were both members and contributors in that game, and now will be looking to lead this DCG team on an upset attempt.

Limiting errors, finding their key players, and playing relaxed will be vital for the Mustangs to put up a strong showing.

The game will be tipping off at 7 pm, as DCG will be looking to make their 2nd trip to the state tournament in the last three years.
