Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library will host a meet and greet with an author coming up.
Joy Neal Kidney will share her new book called “Leora’s Early Years: Guthrie County Roots,” on November 1st at 4pm. Kidney says that this book is about Leora Goff who grew up on a farm in Guthrie County during the Great Depression and Great War.
“She grows up in this one, she meets Clabe Wilson. And I also sketch him as much as I could find out about his growing up years and his ‘We’re tough.’ And these two people, during this time, their characters were forged and they were going to have to go through the poverty of the Great Depression and the losses of World War II.”
Kidney has also written other non-fiction books that include “Leora’s Dexter Stories,” and “Leora’s Letters.” The author meet and greet will take place in the Taylor Meeting Rroom inside the Mary J. Barnett Library.
