Friday, October 21st
3:09am: An officer performed a Traffic Stop with a Speeding vehicle at Elm and Park Ave. South Streets. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Sefan Kinfer (44 of St. Joseph, Missouri) for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious.” Kinfer was also cited for, “Excessive Speed – Simple and Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Simple.”
8:13am: Mia Fredrickson reported a Stray Dog near Grimmell and State. The officer located the animal, but could not get close before the animal would run away.
12:27pm: Amanda Durbin reported a fox, with an apparent broken leg, on South Olive Street. The officer did not locate the reported animal.
1:52pm: An officer checked on a semi stopped in the 300 Block of North Elm Street with its hazard lights activated. The officer learned the subject was in a local restaurant. The officer advised the subject he can not park on the highway. The vehicle was moved.
2:18pm: A Traffic Stop and Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Mia Cummings of Boone being cited for, “Fail to Wear Safety Belt.”
2:55pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Oak Streets resulted in Justin Lamaak of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Wear Safety Belt.”
5:27pm: Terrell Hall reported a subject burning yard waste in the 700 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. He was concerned as Greene County is currently in a Burn Ban. The officer located the fire and advised the subject of the current burn ban. The fire was extinguished.
5:36pm: A caller advised of leaves being burnt at 802 South Chestnut Street. The officer located the home owner and advised of the current Burn Ban.
7:48pm: A Traffic Stop and Elm and State Streets resulted in Kenton Higgins of Grand Junction being cited for, “Violation of Minor’s School license.”
Saturday, October 22nd
2:11pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop on a vehicle with a Sight Obstruction near 220th and Elm Streets. The officer investigation led to the arrest of Jay Dolliver Orsack, 55 of Churdan for, “OWI 1st Offense -Serious.” He was also cited for, “Open Container – Passenger.”
12:16pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Wilson Ave. resulted in Caden Etherton of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Wear Safety Belt.”
4:13pm: Brian Mobley reported his juvenile daughter had been near Elm and Lincoln Way Streets and was making Tik Tok videos. A passing driver thought the juveniles were talking bad about him and began yelling at them before leaving the area.
10:29pm: Lisa Mobley reported a vehicle had just driven through Washington Park. The officer checked and found no damage at the park and is investigating the event.
10:31pm: The sheriff’s Office requested city officers to watch for a vehicle in town, which had been involved in a situation at Spring Lake. The vehicle was not located in Jefferson.
Sunday, October 23rd
3:31am: Bailey Paulson reported someone outside her residence at 603 South Maple Street, who was screaming. The officer arrived and located a male unloading a vehicle in the driveway. The officer spoke to both parties and learned the subject was a family member, who had showed up earlier than expected.
7:40am: Evan Cushbery advised he had locked himself out of his room at the Super 8 Motel and cannot find any hotel staff to assist him. The front desk associate arrived and assisted him a short time later.
4:32pm: Angie Forkner requested an officer at 206 North Oak Street for an issue with the renter. The officer determined the issue was civil in nature and advised them to speak to an attorney.
5:40pm: An officer stood by with a downed power line in the alley of the 300 Block of South Wilson Ave. Alliant Energy arrived to fix the issue.
5:59pm: Wilma Willet advised a snake had been removed earlier in her apartment at 1000 West Adams Street, but she was fearful others may be in the apartment. The apartment was checked and no further snakes were located.
