Friday, October 14th
12:27am: An officer was called to 305 North Wilson Street, for a reported smell of burnt marijuana in the apartment complex. The officer could not determine which apartment the smell was coming from. The investigation continues.
10:55am: Nate Ramaekers reported a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading east into Jefferson. The officer located the vehicle and performed a Traffic Stop and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
10:59am: Nancy Schefers reported a dog in her garage at 1202 Westwood Drive. As the officer arrived, the animal’s owner arrived and took possession of his dog.
1:33pm: An officer investigated an accident at 1701 North Elm Street. A vehicle struck a large landscaping boulder. The 2013 Chevy Malibu was owned by Rebecca Logan of Carrol and operated by Larry Gustoff of Jefferson. The vehicle suffered a reported $2500.00 in damages.
2:50pm: Linda Mathews reported locating a Stray Dog in the 100 Block of Ram Drive. The officer knew the animal and returned it to the owner’s son nearby. He advised they could face an Animal At Large Citation in the future.
4:48pm: Cassie Baugh reported a juvenile damaged her vehicle by kicking it at 1901 North Grimmell Road. The officer is investigating.
7:07pm: A Jefferson officer was requested to assist deputies with a Bank Alarm in Scranton. All was determined to be fine at the business upon arrival.
9:47pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. The business was found to be secure.
11:19pm: A Traffic Stop at Elm and 250th Street resulted in Rachel Dymond of Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
Saturday, October 15th
1:20am: The Super 8 requested an officer at 207 West Gallop Road for a disturbance in the parking lot. All subjects had left before the officer’s arrival. The officer made contact with a female by phone, who had been involved. She advised she was fine and needed no assistance.
8:11am: Janet Bass reported an Unknown Subject had placed ketchup on her door and doorknob at 1000 West Adams Street. The officer has no suspects at this time.
4:27pm: Carole Fisher reported finding a car key at the Yard Waste Dumpsite in the 800 Block of West Russell Street. The key was left hanging on a sign. The officer did not locate the key to place it in Lost and Found.
9:30pm: A caller advised as she was sitting in her vehicle at 106 West Washington Street, another vehicle stopped in front of her. A male subject in the back seat showed his buttocks through the rear window and then they left the area. The officer is investigating.
10:32pm: Robert Busick reported a subject was located in the parking lot at 777 Wild Rose Drive, who had escaped from a Residential Facility in Fort Dodge a few months ago. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the occupant, he was not the escaped subject and was allowed to go on his way.
Sunday, October 16th
2:39am: An officer located an Open Door at 2204 North Mulberry Street. The officer checked inside the business and secured the door.
3:01am: An officer located and secured an Open Door at 407 East Central Ave.
3:16am: An officer secured an Open Door at 600 East Lincoln Way Street.
1:50pm: An officer assisted the Sheriff’s Office with the execution of a Search Warrant at 108 East Central #4. The Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation.
2:55mpm: Steve Hack reported the Theft of mower tires and parts from his mower at 402 South Oak Street. He provided the officer with a suspect and the officer is investigating.
3:50pm: An officer was called to 305 North Wilson Avenue, for reported smell of burning marijuana. The officer is investigating.
5:57pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1300 Block of North Grimmell Road resulted in Stephanie Hutt of Nevada being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
6:06pm: An officer issued a Parking Violation Notice in the 900 Block of West State Street for, “Parking facing Wrong Direction.”
9:54pm: An officer responded to an Alarm Activation at 106 West Washington Street. The business was secure.
