The Guthrie County Extension and Outreach Office has released its schedule for fall pesticide applicators trainings.

Regional Extension Education Director Rich Wrage says there are several trainings scheduled this fall with many categories depending on someone’s occupation. Wrage explains these programs are good for earning continued education units to maintain a license to apply pesticide.

“So the first one comes up in roadside forest and aquatic management on October 19th through the month of November. There’s just to give you an idea of some of the categories, ornamental and turf applicators, people who do fumigation, commercial ag weed, the ones that work for co-ops or feed seed representatives or private industry that applies weed, insect and plant disease, pesticides, pest control operators that might spray indoors in a house or a business mosquito and public health. And then there’s people who work in greenhouses or flying airplanes and applicators. So there’s lots of different areas.”

The Roadside, Forest and Aquatic Pest Management training will be held at the Guthrie County Extension building on October 19th from 9 to 11:20am with the cost of $35. Space is limited so contact the extension office for registration.
