Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Greene County volleyball team hosted its invitational tournament at the high school in Jefferson on Saturday and final statistics are now available. The Rams went 2-2 in matches and 6-4 in sets and are now 14-7 on the season.
Although the Rams dropped two matches, they were to champion Stanton in the semifinals and to runner-up Pella Christian in pool play. In both cases, the matches went the full three sets in the three set format with scores of 17-21, 23-21, and 13-15, vs. the ViQueens, and 21-18, 16-21, 10-15, to the Eagles. The wins were two sets to zero vs. Boone and Carroll High.
On the day, Bella Schroeder had 32 kills with 28 from Kaylee Stalder, 14 for Emma Ewalt, nine by Payton Kokenge, and eight for Ashlynn Hinners. Alexa Peters led the team in digs with 18, followed by Graci Cooklin 16, Katrina Heupel 14, and Natalie Heupel nine. Schroeder had five blocks on the day with two each for Stalder and Kokenge.
