As the political season is heating up and the midterm elections on the horizon, one organization in Jefferson invites interested voters to attend their meetings with some of the candidates.

The Jefferson Rotary Club holds a weekly meeting on Mondays which also includes informative programs, such as general and current topics. They have a slate of candidates coming in October that would also be of general interest to Greene County voters. Program Chair Craig Hertel says Rotary is a non-political organization and strives to provide opportunities for members and others to be more informed about current events and those that shape them. 

Republican candidate for Iowa House District 47 Carter Nordman will be this Monday and next Monday, October 10th will be the Republican candidate for Iowa’s Third Congressional District Zach Nunn. The Democrat incumbent for Iowa’s Third Congressional District Cindy Axne is slated for October 17th. Then on October 31st will be the Democrat candidate for Iowa House District 47 Gary Overla. 

A meal is also served during the meetings and reservation is necessary for non-Rotary members. Those interested in attending can contact President Susan Laehn at 515-370-5883. The meetings are at noon at the Jefferson Community Golf Course Clubhouse.
