Monday night the volleyball and cross country teams were in action. The volleyball team was in Saydel for some tournament action, and was able to come home with a second place finish out of eight teams, with the Des Moines East Scarlets and Perry Bluejays being two of the teams the Wildcats defeated. The team was in action again last night, hosting the Earlham Cardinals for senior night. Look for more on the game tomorrow.

The cross country teams may have had a bit of a break over the weekend from the fantastic runs they had last week, but they didn’t slow down one bit. There were several medals that ended up coming back from Orient with the team to Stuart, and some high placements in the races.

For the girls varsity team, Taitlin Koch came in 4th place, with Chasey Rowan right behind her in 5th, and Zalina Morse took 10th place to give the Wildcats a 2nd place team finish for the meet. On the boys side, Cael Hazen grabbed 5th place and Jared Rodriguez came in 11th to put West Central Valley in 3rd place as a team. For the junior varsity girls, Cadence Heilman was able to grab 2nd place, with Ashlynn Foster right behind her in 3rd place.

The cross country teams will compete again tomorrow, as they host the Wildcat Invitational. Also, announced yesterday, both the high school and middle school teams have added a meet to their schedules to make up for the cancellation of the Greene County meet. They will head to Saydel on October 6th and compete there.
