The Jefferson Fieldhouse is less than one year old, but several Greene County High School athletic coaches and the athletes themselves are pleased with the results. The Fieldhouse is now the home of Greene County high school, middle school, and youth wrestling, and it’s a year-round training facility for speed, agility, flexibility, and strength.
Jeff Schroeder of The Fieldhouse told Raccoon Valley Radio that a new program starting tomorrow (April 16) will be held after school on Wednesdays and Fridays for students in grades K-5 and grades 6-9 who plan on being on swim teams this summer. He called it a “dry land exercise” and said other programs for youth and adults are being developed.

Greene County High School senior Roman Phillips has become a top-notch sprinter and he credits PXP training at the Fieldhouse as well as power weightlifting at the high school as major factors in his success. Phillips and his teammates are in action today (Tues.) in Gowrie at the Prairie Valley Relays.
