Des Moines Christian is Greene County’s Homecoming football opponent on Friday night at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The Lions pass the ball- a lot- and they pass it very well. Quarterback Tate Platte has 849 passing yard and 12 touchdowns through the air in just three games. What the statistics also show is the Lions aren’t proficient at stopping the rushing attack of the opponent. DMC is 1-2 on the season and they’ve allowed more than 930 yards on the ground in the two losses. The losses are to 3-0 Pella Christian and 2-1 ACGC, with the victory over Des Moines Hoover 1-2.
Greene County is 2-1 with victories over ACGC and Perry, and a road loss at Carroll to Kuemper Catholic last Friday. The Rams have shown balance between running and passing, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if there was more emphasis on the rushing attack, given the Lions issues with stopping that part of the game.
Kickoff is at 7 o’clock at Linduska Field with coverage at 6:20 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.racoonvalleyradio.com.
