As Labor Day Weekend has come and gone, that marks the unofficial end for some campers and the Guthrie County Conservation discusses the season thus far.
Guthrie County Conservation Director for Guthrie County Brad Halterman says that the 2022 camping season could not overcome the numbers they collected during the pandemic. Halterman tells Raccoon Valley Radio the summary of the season thus far.
“About the last month and a half or so it is. It’s dropped off a little bit. But I would still say that we’re still seeing more camping. The tail end of this summer was before COVID(19), before COVID(19) hit. So our camping numbers have been really good again this summer.”
Halterman reminds folks that camping in the fall brings great temperatures and scenery and that they still allow camping with utilities at Lenon Mill and Nations Bridge Parks are still open until the weather has freezing conditions.
