A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to probation for a burglary incident.

According to court documents, 60-year-old Michael Olson pled guilty to a Class C Felony for second degree burglary. He had a five year prison sentence suspended and was placed on probation for two years.

The charge stemmed from an incident on February 18th. The Jefferson Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at Bomgaards in Jefferson at 7:15pm. During the investigation law enforcement learned that Olson stole a drill that was valued at $300.

Olson was also ordered to pay victim restitution and a $300 probation fee. According to Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn, his office and the defense attorney jointly recommended probation so Olson could get a job to pay his financial obligations. District Court Judge Kurt Stoebe agreed with the recommendation.
