The Raccoon River Valley area continues to range from abnormally dry to severe drought, with still no improvement overall.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry has received 0.21 inch of precipitation so far this month. Jefferson has seen 0.39 inch and 0.22 inch has fallen in Guthrie Center.
Typically, both Perry and Jefferson get 3.37 inches of rain in April, while Guthrie Center usually sees around 3.86 inches.
There is a strong chance of rain and potential thunderstorms this weekend.
