The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School football team will take the field tonight with an upgrade to Charger Stadium.
The Guthrie Center School Board approved back in October of 2021 a new scoreboard on the Guthrie Center football and track field and the new display is ready for the first football game against Woodward-Granger tonight. Head Football and Track Coach Cody Matthewson says this is another way to energize their athletes and supporters while also providing new opportunities for their school.
“You know it will create a lot more interactive opportunities for our (football) games and our track meets and hopefully give us the opportunity to even host some state qualifying meets in the future.”
Matthewson explains that their old scoreboard was outdated and the graphics were black and white and did not work most of the time. He adds that the new scoreboard will allow for high-definition graphics with color and provide an audience with up to the second information and stats.
