It’s meet number one of the high school cross-country season today for the Greene County Rams. The girls and boys will both be running late afternoon races at the West Central Valley Middle School in Redfield. There are 14 schools scheduled for the co-ed event. Jeff Lamoureux is the head coach and Lyndsey Duncan is the assistant coach.
Seniors Olivia Shannon and Autumn Stevens were the only two girls out for the sport a season ago, and they return as letter winners, along with three newcomers for a squad of five girls. On the boys’ side, four seniors from the 2021 squad graduated. Sophomores Gavyn Winters and Noah Hinote have been the leaders in preseason workouts among the eight boys out for cross-country.
