Hannah Onken, a 2015 Greene County High School graduate, is the Director of Operations for the AAA Nashville Sounds baseball team, the top minor league club of the Milwaukee Brewers. The former high school softball slugger on 2014 and ’15 Ram softball teams that placed third at State Tournaments both years, has traded an optic yellow ball for a white one.

She talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about her job, which covers a variety of areas. “In my title I’m in charge of the maintenance, the cleanliness, and security of the ballpark. I’m doing anything from cleaning up throw-up and things like that to fixing broken HVAC systems, setting up for events, setting up security detectors, getting people into the ballpark, assisting fans wherever they may need it. I’m basically always on the move. If a fire alarm goes off, that’s a me thing, gotta jump on it and make sure it’s not something too drastic!”

Onken added every day is different, which is what she loves about her job.

Through Monday of this week Nashville had a 2.5 game lead in the West Division of the International League.
