Friday, August 19th

1:48am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance at a residence in the 400 block of Rushview Drive

7:17am: An Officer received a request for extra patrol in the 100 block of North Wilson Street.

10:06am: Felicia Conroy of Jefferson spoke with an Officer in reference to a civil dispute over private property. The Officer answered these questions.

12:41pm: An Officer assisted a DHS worker with a case in the 600 block of West South Street.

2:08pm: Blake Millard of Jefferson reported an assault having possibly occurred several days earlier. The Officer is investigating.

3:15pm: An Officer was dispatched to the HyVee parking lot, 106 West Washington Street for a minor two vehicle accident. Both parties exchanged information without the assistance of the Officer.

4:29pm: Tom Dennhardt of Jefferson reported seeing a possibly sick fox in the 500 block of South Locust Street. The Officer looked for the animal and could not find it.

6:13pm: An Officer preformed a traffic stop near the intersection of North Grimmell and West Central Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Gary Amerson of Century Florida was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”

6:56pm: Lynn Groves of Callender, Iowa, reported having information relating to an ongoing Jefferson Police Department case. The Officer collected this information.

7:56pm: Jeri Gettler reported possible harassment by phone from a number she did not recognize. The Officer investigated and passed further information onto Gettler regarding the caller. It was determined criminal harassment was not occurring.

9:53pm: A minor female reported harassment from a minor male. The Officer spoke with those involved and resolved the situation.

Saturday, August 20th

12:19am: Danielle Eastman of Jefferson reported being harassed while riding her bicycle in the 1000 block of North Elm Street. The Officer investigated and was unable to identify the others possibly involved.

5:42am: Sandy Groves of Jefferson reported suspicious activity at a residence in the 300 block of East Lincolnway. The residence was to be vacant and a person was observed removing items. The Officer went to the residence and found the person present lived at the house.

9:17am: Tong Long of Jefferson reported fallen tree branches being placed partly on a rental property he owned by someone who did not have the right to do so. The Officer spoke with those involved and resolved the situation.

11:47am: An anonymous caller reported two stay dogs running loose near the intersection of West Russell and South Elm Street. Officers checked the reported area for the dogs and did not locate them.

12:39pm: An Officer was dispatched to the area near Pinet Street and West Lincolnway for the report of a dog running loose in the area. The Officer located the dog and its owner. As a result of the investigation, Bryant Margetta of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Animal Running at Large – Prohibited”

3:17pm: Tonya Johnson of Perry, Iowa, reported a civil dispute over the possession of residential door keys. The Officer investigated and found nothing criminal had occurred.

 

5:40pm: An anonymous caller reported loud music being played in the 700 block of West State Street. The Officer checked the area and found the music being played wasnot violating City Code.

6:38pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy with a report of a transient female walking on 220 th Street approaching Jefferson. The Officer stood by until further assistance was no longer needed.

7:36pm: Debbie Beddow of Jefferson reported her neighbor’s dog has come onto her property and chased her cat in the 200 block of West Russell Street. The Officer responded and spoke with the dog’s owner Emily McCormick of Jefferson. She advised Beddow’s cat also often comes onto her property. The animal’s owners were advised to keep them on their own property.

7:58pm: An anonymous caller reported loud music in the 700 block of West State Street. An Officer checked the area and heard no music.

8:56pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance Service with a medical call in the 1200 block of Westwood Drive.

Sunday, August 21st

11:49am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance Service with a medical call in the 1300 block of Ferguson Circle.

2:14pm: Anthony Nunez Jr. of Jefferson reported a possible Domestic Assault at a residence in the 300 block of East Harrison Street. The Officer is investigating.

2:29pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 1800 block of North Grimmell Road. As a result of the traffic stop, Kinnick Steimel of Jefferson was issued a citation for “Violation of Conditions of Restricted License”

3:12pm: The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office requested a Jefferson Officer check on the welfare of a female in the 700 block of North Wilson Street. The Officer located the female and was told she did not need assistance. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was advised of this.

4:33pm: The Jefferson Police Department assisted the Greene County Sheriff’s Office with a welfare check on a female in the 1200 block of Westwood Drive. The officer stood by until his assistance was no longer needed.

6:14pm: Sharon Carroll of Jefferson reported trespassing by an unidentified male at a property she owned in the 500 block of South Chestnut Street. The male was not located by the Officer. Extra patrol in the area was requested.

7:27pm: An Officer investigated a parking issue in the 200 block of East Clark Street. The Officer spoke with the owner of the illegally parked vehicle, Daniel Walker of Jefferson. Walker moved the vehicle to be legally parked.

8:28pm: Bev Batcheller of Jefferson reported a bat in her residence in the 300 block of South Pinet Street. The Officer removed the bat.
