The 2022 high school volleyball season starts later today for Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Greene County Rams. It’s a non-conference triangular with host Collins-Maxwell and Glidden-Ralston with action beginning at 5 p.m. between C-M and G-R.

The Rams will face G-R at approximately 6 o’clock, then it’s C-M and the Rams to round out the night. Greene County will be looking for a second straight winning season in varsity volleyball, something that has not happened since becoming Greene County High School. The 2021 Rams broke a string of 10 straight losing seasons by going 16-13.

Greene County returns quite a bit of varsity experience led by the senior class. Bella Schroeder was on the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference first team last year with Katrina Heupel on the second team and Natalie Heupel was an honorable mention selection, as was current sophomore Emma Shipley.
