The IowarunJumpThrow.com preseason rankings for the 2022 cross country season came out and they think very highly of the defending class 1a state champions.

The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center boys cross country team will be trying to defend their state title and according to the new rankings they sit at the top spot, ranked number 1. Head Coach Colin Shawgo thinks very highly of his boys team including his upperclassmen Andrew Mahaffey and Justin Reinhart.

“Justin Reinhart and Andrew Mahaffey turned in a ton of miles this summer, and they actually ran quite a bit last winter as well. So they’re coming in very well prepared. I’ve been very happy with their workouts. Both of them are actually doing workouts that we’re right with, or even a little faster than Trevin’s (Suhr) workouts last year.”

Shawgo feels like his underclassmen that inlcude Bo Arrasmith, Noah Kading, Lance Bunde, Jackson Sloss and others can pick up the production graduating Kaden Thompson had from last year.
