The Perry football team will kick off the season a week earlier than most, hosting Panorama in a 7:00 game tomorrow night at Dewey Field. Perry went 0-9 a season ago and has lost 35 straight games dating back to the 2017 season. Panorama finished 1-8 last year. The two teams are meeting after discussions this past spring and summer. Perry was worried about losing Des Moines Hoover off the schedule when the Huskies announced this spring that they would not be fielding a football team. Hoover has since reversed the decision and will play football this fall. The Iowa High School Athletic Association gave Perry permission to play a 10th game just in case Hoover folds their program.
