The Perry Public Library recently wrapped up its Oceans of Possibilities Summer Library Program which saw good attendance this year.
The program was kicked off with the return of Kids Fest that took place on June 4th with the program ending in July. Library Director Mary Murphy describes her thoughts about the program overall.
“I’m very, very pleased. Before the pandemic we were approaching 465, 470 for children being enrolled and we were around the number of 440 which is a really good comeback. I think everybody enjoyed the programming, the magic show at the finale was super, the teen program and the adult program are getting back to the numbers of pre-pandemic numbers.”
Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio people who came out and enjoyed the summer library programming were able to also get a lot of resources.
“We at the library, all the staff, want to give the best library services that we can and that’s programming, that’s in books, that’s in streaming audiobooks. I think that if you are taking advantage of the Perry Public Library and Hometown Heritage at the Carnegie Library Museum you are enriching yourself and getting more out of your tax dollars.”
