Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center football finishes up their first week of practice and Head Coach Cody Matthewson discusses his team.

Matthewson feels confident in the seniors coming back this year that have a lot of experience that includes Brock Littler, Payton Jacobe, Ben Marsh and Austin Kunkle. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio he plans on continuing where he left off last year winning 9 games.

“Planning on really just plugging guys in and really not taking much of a step back from last year. And that’s our job as coaches to get these guys game ready in a few weeks. And defensively, we’re really excited. Defensively, yeah, we lost some guys, but we’re really happy with where we’re at right now. We changed our scheme up just a little bit, but our guys are in a better position to be successful.”

Matthewson says there is no secret to what they want to do on offense or defense but with different personnel this year they are working on schemes to fit a new team.
