Lack of precipitation has led to worsening drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio area.

According to the US Drought Monitor, the majority of Dallas County and the southern half of Guthrie County is under a moderate drought. The northern third of Dallas County, the rest of Guthrie, with exception of the northwestern corner and most of Greene County are abnormally dry.

According to the National Weather Service as of Thursday morning, Perry has seen 0.02-inches of rain this month, Jefferson has had 0.07 inches of rain, and Guthrie Center reports 0.48-inches for August. The National Weather Service reports the last time Perry and Jefferson had over 0.1-inch of rain was on July 28th with 0.29-inches for Perry and Jefferson had 0.52-inches. 

The National Weather Service predicts the next best chance for precipitation in the Raccoon Valley Radio area is Monday.
