Perry Youth Football will be hosting a fundraiser this weekend to help raise money for a good cause.
The Bluejay Football Block Party will be taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday in the Cleanworks Autowash parking lot. Board Member Tiffany Olejniczak says people will be able to get their car washed for a free-will donation or they can use the automatic wash bays and those proceeds will also go to Perry Youth Football.
“There will be players on hand doing a bike wash and in addition to that we are going to be serving a grilled hotdog meal for $5. We are also going to be having an ice cream truck available so that’ll be fun and then we will have a couple carnival games just for kids to be able to play and kind of hangout in the block party atmosphere while all those other things are going on.”
Olejniczak tells Raccoon Valley Radio that fundraisers are important as football is an expensive sport to participate in due to the needed safety equipment. Olejniczak is excited for the fun event on Saturday.
“I think it’s always great to see elementary kids out enjoying an opportunity with their families while raising money for the youth in our community. I know as we work to build competitive high school teams again, our youth are our foundation and we just want to create a really fun atmosphere where people could enjoy lunch with their family and also do some good.”
