Later today starts the Greene County High School football camp. Head coach Caden Duncan reports the camp is for those entering grades nine through 12. High school camp will continue on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Tuesday reserved for middle school students going into grades 5-6-7-8.
The coach said the middle schoolers will learn from the varsity staff and high school players. They’ll go over the fundamentals of the game and introduce other basics about offenses, defenses, and special teams.
The high school players have been in workouts since early June, so the camp is for fine tuning prior to the official start of practice on August 8.
Greene County won the Class 2A District 8 title last year with a perfect 5-0 record and won every district game by 35 or more points. Overall, the Rams were 8-2 and ranked as high as third in the polls.
