Dallas Center – Grimes athletics will be rocking a new surface at the football stadium this fall, with the program putting in athletic turf over the month of July.

It should benefit multiple athletic programs, with DCG football, track and field, soccer and more getting benefits, as well as various athletes who might use it for training in their respective sport.

DCG had a grass field for many years, and though it was always well maintained, it was tougher to keep up during the latter portion of the football season as well as rainy springs in Iowa when both of the soccer teams and track and field teams were trying to use the facility.

Now DCG will have all of their athletic teams work on a surface that will stay the same throughout the year, and should help all of the programs help improve their games as well.
