U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne

Congresswomen Cindy Axne, in a teleconference with her constituents, recently discussed removing semi automatic weapons and weapons of war from Americans.

Axne addresses that remark by saying she will continue to push for the assault weapons ban to be reinstated. She says that the assault weapons ban was bipartisan legislation installed in 1994 that dropped mass shootings by 250 percent.

“It worked. It kept people safe while allowing gun owners who obviously kept their arms safe and sound for their family and their community to own those, but keep the guns out of the assault weapons off the street. So I will always support keeping weapons of war out of the hands of people in our communities.”

She explains she would be in support of banning any gun that would be listed on the assault weapons ban legislation.

“If a gun comes under that jurisdiction, then it should be included. I’m not going to get into a discussion on each and every type of gun. I don’t think that’s relevant. I think that we need to look at those guns that are killing Americans en masse.”

Axne states the House has already passed legislation that addresses bum stocks, rifles and the limit ammunition purchases.
