As we continue looking at the stats recorded by both baseball and softball players for the West Central Valley Wildcats today, we’ll start with freshman Zach Teague of the baseball team. He started in 26 of the 27 games he played, recording 62 at bats, 14 runs, 14 single base hits, and one double, totaling 15 hits. He also had 10 RBI’s, 1 sacrifice bunt, was walked 21 times, hit by 9 pitches, and reached on error 3 times.

Teague was struck out 20 times, but was able to record a batting average of .242, an on base percentage of .489, and a slugging percentage of .258. He was successful on both of his base steal attempts, had 5 assists, 35 put outs, and a fielding percentage of .889. He pitched 10 innings, throwing 275 pitches to 83 opponents. Teague had an opponent batting average of .398, and an ERA of 17.50.

For the softball team, we’ll report on incoming freshman Macy Long today. She started and played in all 37 games, tallying up 116 at bats, 14 runs, and 39 hits. Of those hits, 36 were singles, and 3 were doubles, helping her record 28 RBI’s. She was walked 8 times, reached on error 3 times, and struck out 16 times.

Long recorded a batting average of .336, an on base percentage of .379, and a slugging percentage of .362. She had 63 assists, 50 put outs, and a fielding percentage of .904.
