Greene County Farm Bureau recently held its annual Member Appreciation Picnic in the Grand Junction Community Center.
The night included several highlights, such as the Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award, with this year’s winner being Bill Sutton of Jefferson. Sutton served as a farm bureau director from 2002-2018. For 41 years, Sutton farmed corn and soybeans, along with helping to develop Hardin Hilltop Wind in 2007 and in 2012 with Junction Hilltop Wind.
Also during the event where 55 people attended, Greene County Farm Bureau recognized this year’s scholarship winners, including Mikayla Monahan of Churdan, Max Riley of Rippey and Madison Grow of Churdan.
The evening ended with the keynote speaker, NEW Cooperative General Manager Dan Dix. The company started in 1973 with two locations and now has grown to over 41 locations, and they will celebrate their 50th anniversary next year.
