Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan and 2022 Paton-Churdan graduate Bradyn Smith, an All-State linebacker for the Rams, had positive experiences at the 50th Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Game on July 23 inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. Duncan was a South assistant and Smith played for the South squad, which lost 24-17 in a tightly contested game.

Coach Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about it and said, “It was a really cool experience getting to practice all week long with those All-Star level players. Bradyn started at middle linebacker and did very well representing Greene County. We really looked at it as being a privilege to be there. You got to see some of the Shrine Hospital patients and some of the benefits the Shriners work for, so it was a really cool experience and I was glad I was a part of it.”
This is Family Week for Iowa high school and middle school athletes with no contact with coaches for practice, workouts, drills, etc. And, no school facilities may be used by athletes this week. The Greene County football camp for those entering grades 9-12 begins Monday, August 1.
