When the season ends it’s a time to reflect on all the positive moments and performances throughout the year and the Panorama Panthers Softball team has plenty to be proud of.
Finishing their year with a record of 2-26 and picking up a win in the first round of regional competition over the AC/GC Chargers a score of 11-9 the Panthers girls closed out their 2022 season with plenty of positives to build on for next season.
Jaidyn Sellers had an outstanding season including being 4th in Class 2A in both batting average and triples while also earning a First Team West Central Athletes Conference All-Conference vote for infielder and Jaidyn also earned a spot on the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-District Team for the Class 2A Southwest Team.
Jazmyn Sellers and Caitlyn Sloss both earned honorable mention for West Central Athletes Conference All-Conference as Jazmyn led the team in doubles, homeruns, RBIs and sac flies while Sloss led the team in sacrifice bunts and walks.
At their team banquet the Panthers also received their 2022 Softball Team awards with Jaidyn Sellers, getting the Leadoff Award, Jazmyn Sellers earned the Big Stick Award, Bridgette Ewing received the Most Overall Improved award, Grace Webner earned the Most Improved Offensive award, Hanna Smith received the Most Improved Defensive award, the Golden Glove Award went to Arilyan Steenblock, the Coaches Award went to Caitlyn Sloss, the Panther Spirit Award went to Lillie Arganbright, Faith Recker earned the Hustle Award, Elizabeth Snyder earned the H.E.A.R.T. Award and Elah Malloy earned the Rookie of the Year Award.
There were also All-Tournament Selections earned throughout the season including Bridgette Ewing and Ava Thompson for the Panorama Tournament and Arilyan Steenblock for the AC/GC Tournament.
Other awards includes For the Love of the Game Award in Caitlyn Sloss and Avery Bahrenfuss ,Clutch Defensive Player Award for Jaidyn Sellers, Clutch Offensive Player Award going to Jazmyn Sellers and Best Dressed for Team Challenges for Arilyan Steenblock and Hanna Smith.
The Panthers girls will be looking to take all these positives into the offseason and come back ready to go in 2023.
