The Stuart Library Foundation held a presentation to find out what their selected young adults did with the international travel scholarship they were awarded Monday.
The handpicked recieptants of the first ever Stuart Library Foundation International Travel Scholarship was awarded to Kyle Fairchild and Danielle Morgan. Morgan says with the schlolarship they decided to visit Peru in South America because it was rich with history and architecture.
“And then we were down there for about two and a half weeks. And so we got to see lots of different places. We saw cities, the desert down there, rainforest, we saw the ocean. So just lots of different terrain in one country. It was amazing.”
Morgan described her favorite part of the trip to Peru.
“It’s for me, it’s a huge toss up between Machu Picchu and that desert Oasis Huacachina. I think one of the main highlights for me was sand boarding down the sand dunes.”
The purpose of the international travel scholarship is to give young adults in the Stuart Library community a chance to travel outside of the United States and gain knowledge of other cultures, history, economics and enviroments.
