Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers softball will be looking to put up a strong performance in their 4A first round state softball game today in Fort Dodge, with the Tigers to match up against the Lady Lancers of North Scott. The number two seed Tigers come in with a 31-4 record while North Scott comes in with a 28-10 mark.
This is the second straight trip for the Tigers after they were able to defeat Boone and Carroll in their region to make it to the state tournament. North Scott is making their third trip in four years last making it in 2020, and defeated Central DeWitt and Maquoketa to make it here.
Both of these teams matched up earlier this year with ADM winning the matchup in a tournament 5-1. However, historically these are two programs that have rarely seen each other.
Both of these programs are well tested this year, as ADM played in the Raccoon River Conference that sent four teams in two classes to state, and North Scott the Mississippi Valley that sent four teams in three different classes.
Both teams are very similar in terms of having strong pitching and strong fielding, with both teams have numerous top five metrics in the state in those categories. The Tigers are first in 4A in fewest runs allowed, with only 62 given up on the year. If the bats can get going, the Tigers will give themselves a good opportunity to win today.
First pitch of the game will be happening at 5:00 pm at Kruger Seeds Field. You can listen to the game on True Country K1079, the KKRF app, and raccoonvalleyradio.com. Pregame coverage will be happening fifteen minutes before first pitch.
