Members of the Stuart Chamber of Commerce met yesterday for their April session.
Treasurer Shannon Behnken began the meeting with update on the Chamber’s March financials. The Chamber had a net loss of about $430 last month, as monies were spent for the reservation of inflatables, tractor pulls and tents for Stuart’s Good Egg Days later this year.
The Chamber’s current net ending balance is still over $5,700.
A couple of business updates were then made relating to Midwest Partnership. The organization announced the date for its 19th annual golf outing, which will be held Thursday, June 26th at Lake Panorama National. The cost to register is $300 for a team or $75 per golfer.
Midwest Partnership has also announced the next meeting date for the Regional Entrepreneurial Development Project. It will be held Friday, April 25th, from 11am to 3pm at the Warren Cultural Center in Greenfield. All area residents are encouraged to attend.
Next, Behnken again spoke to the Chamber with a brief update about Good Egg Days. She has switched her committee’s next meeting time to Tuesday, April 8th at 9am at AmericInn. Behnken also confirmed that Stuart’s local Boy Scouts troop will open the event’s big parade.
Andrew Kaldenberg of Rose Acre Farms then updated Chamber members about the latest regarding their Easter Egg Hunt, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 19th, at 1pm in Lawbaugh Park. Kaldenberg says Rose Acres needs 12 volunteers from the area to help them set up the hunt at about 11:45 that morning.
The Stuart Chamber is dually sponsoring the Easter Egg Hunt this year by providing goodie bags for all the kids who participate.
Near the conclusion of the meeting, Lynsi Pasutti addressed the Chamber to talk about the Stuart Farmer’s Market. The cost for full season membership in the market is $15, and after discussion, the Chamber decided it will host a weekly tent for the 24 weeks the market runs this year. Local businesses will rotate with their own meal or food item each week.
The Stuart Chamber will next convene on Wednesday, May 7th at AmericInn.
