The West Central Valley School District recently hired a new face for a leadership position that took over on July 1st.
Justin Williams is originally from Atlantic and was previously the assistant principal at Red Oak Junior and Senior High School and now will become the head principal at West Central High School. Williams says that he was sold on the position from the beginning.
“I’m really excited about this opportunity, I think it’s going to be something that is for me professionally right where I want to be, looking at things and looking at districts where administratively I might want to be at. West Central Valley really fit a lot of areas I wanted. I wanted a great place with great facilities and we didn’t want to be in the city but close to it.”
Williams states he wants to improve proficiency in one certain area at the high school level.
“And right now we are struggling in math, we’re great in reading and when I say struggling there are schools that are far worse but it’s a number we need to focus on and get better as a building.”
He adds his goal is to continue to improve the opportunities for students in academics and athletics along with creating a great work environment for faculty and staff.
