Greene County Community CenterThe nine-annual Toddler Fest is this weekend at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.

Children’s Librarian Terry Clark with the Jefferson Public Library says the event is for any two through five year-olds and their families to learn about the enjoyment of reading.

“It’s a great time for families to get together and participate in activities as a family.  We encourage the children to read at an early age and a big part of Toddler Fest is to be a reader and we just think this is a great event for the families in our community.”

She adds that there will be 20 organizations and groups with displays for parents to find out more about reading and what other services there are for children and families in the area.

Other games and activities includes a sand play station, sidewalk chalk, a roping station and a mini mart shopping area for children.  Clark comments that there will also be a magician performing.

Each child that comes to Toddler Fest will receive a free book along with other treats and goodies.

This free come-and-go event will be from 10am-noon on Saturday, April 5th.  It is sponsored by the Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
