Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers baseball was in class 3A substate two first round action on Friday night in Adel, and the Tigers were able to find a way to victory in a well pitched game by both teams winning 3-1. ADM moves to 19-8 on the season while Algona ends their year at 12-17.

The visiting Bulldogs were able to score first on a bases loaded walk in the first inning to make it 1-0. It would stay that score until the fourth inning when the Tigers would plate two, getting an RBI groundout by Sam Holloway and then an RBI single from Nate Fisher to make it 2-1 after 4. Christian Madison would hit a hit insurance home run in the sixth inning on a deep fly in the sixth inning.

ADM was able to get four innings out of Luke Greth, who was able to give up 2 hits and 1 run, walking three and striking out 2. Ben Smith was able to provide two 1-2-3 innings of scoreless relief, and Sam Holloway was able to strike out all three batters he faced in the seventh inning to finish out the win.

The Tigers moves to the semifinals on Monday night when they take on the Winterset Huskies for the third time this year. First pitch will be at 7 pm in Adel, and the game can be heard on True Country K1079.
