It’s Greene County at Saydel on the northeast side of Des Moines tonight in Class 3A Region 2 softball. The winning team moves on to Tuesday’s Region 2 final while the losing team will have its season come to an end.

These two Heart of Iowa Activities Conference rivals have met twice already this season with the Eagles winning 3-2 and 5-0. Saydel won the conference title and is 29-4 and ranked number 7 in 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Rams are 13-12 after a 1-6 start to the season.

Tom Kennedy is the head coach of the Rams and he told Raccoon Valley Radio “Saydel is a good team with a really good pitcher. We’re going to have to find a way to score a few runs. We’d like to cut down the strikeouts she has and put the ball in play more.”

Coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com starts at 6:30 p.m. with first pitch set for 7 o’clock.
