One of the main fundraisers for the Greene County 4-H Foundation will take center stage this week during the Greene County Fair.
Greene County Fair Board Member Jonathan Marshall talks about the upgrades that the Clover Cafe recently underwent due to the donations that were received through last fall’s fundraiser.
“We recently received some funds to update the kitchen (with) new lights, some new panels, some new insulation, and some new stainless steel tables for inside there to do meal prep.”
Additionally, the campaign allowed for a new commercial refrigerator and credit card system.
Greene County ISU Extension Director Lori Mannel describes how the Clover Cafe continues to support the 4-H’ers, even after 60 years.
“And that is our number one fundraiser to support, through the 4-H Foundation, all proceeds go back to fund programs for the kids. We’re adding some new and all of the prices are going to remain the same. So we’re very proud of the fact that even though there’s been some increase in grocery items, we’ve made some changes and we’re going to keep the prices the same.”
Each 4-H Club works different shifts as well as local businesses in support of the 4-H program. This year there are breakfast and lunch specials Wednesday through Sunday this week, and it will officially open tomorrow from 5-9pm. Click the link below to see the full list of the menu items.
