As the summer continues on, the Perry Public Library Summer Library Program is seeing plenty of participation.
The program got kicked off on June 4th with the return of Kids Fest this year which saw plenty of people out at the library engaging in fun activities. Library Director Mary Murphy says the Oceans Of Possibilities summer library program has plenty of people registered.
“We have over 400 kids registered, over 30 teens and that’s a big number for teens and our adults are approaching 80, 85.”
Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio the engagement with the programming is high with good attendance including students from Perry’s Academic and Cultural Enrichment Services (P.A.C.E.S.).
“Monday through Thursday we have the different age groups from P.A.C.E.S. So, we are reaching out and reach a lot of children preventing that summer slide. It is wonderful to see them come into the library and look for books and know that this is part of what they are doing at P.A.C.E.S is promoting reading.”
The Oceans Of Possibilities summer library program will continue until July 29th. For more information on the programming you can go here.
