It’s a pair of softball giants on the diamond tonight, as the number 1 team in 4A Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers will welcome the number 2 team in Winterset.

Both teams are coming in on major winning streaks, ADM is currently on an eight game winning streak and Winterset 14 streak going into their game against Norwalk on Tuesday.

Both of these teams faced each other earlier in June with ADM grabbing the victory on the road 1-0. ADM has won 6 out of the last nine in the series, but Winterset leads the overall series over the last 10 years.

Both of these teams have outstanding offenses, Winterset is averaging 7.7 runs per game and ADM is averaging 6.1 runs per game. Both teams also possess great pitchers, Thea Banning for Winterset has a 1.79 ERA with 138 strikeouts, while Aliya Yanga for ADM has a 0.67 ERA with 225 strikeouts.

This game will go a long way towards the conference standings, with ADM still undefeated in conference play, while Winterset’s only conference loss coming to ADM.
