
Thursday, June 16th
1:54am: The Wild Rose Casino reported a possibly intoxicated male sleeping outside of the Cobble Stone Hotel building. The Officer located the male and found he was having a medical issue. The Greene County Ambulance Service was called to assist the male.
2:13pm: Bob Cairns of Jefferson spoke with an Officer concerning a parking issue. The Officer answered his questions.
2:37pm: An Officer with the Humboldt Police Department requested a Jefferson Officer’s assistance with an ongoing investigation. The Officer provided the requested assistance.
3:18pm: The Wild Rose Casino requested the assistance of the Jefferson Police Department for a patron who was refusing to leave the property. The Officers investigated the complaint. As a result of the investigation, Lukas Savage of Ames, Iowa was placed under arrest for “Trespassing”
3:52pm: Amy Baugh of Jefferson requested to speak with an Officer regarding questions concerning child custody. The Officer answered these questions.
Friday, June 17th
3:28am: An anonymous caller reported seeing a person near the entrance door at Bomgaars, and felt it was suspicious. An Officer located the subject and determined they were attempting to catch a dog.
10:27am: Tyler Lowmiller reported that his residence had been broke into and items were stolen. The incident is being investigated by an officer.
1:17pm: A traffic stop at West Adams Street and North Maple Street resulted in Josef Herman, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for “Violation – Financial Liability Coverage”.
1:40pm: Jason Wells reported that he had lost his laptop with the City of Jefferson. He wanted the situation documented in case it was turned in to the Police Department.
2:02pm: Rebecca Chumbley reported that one of her employee’s, at A&W, was being harassed by an unknown person. The Officer provided advice.
3:13pm: Sid Jones reported possible suspicious vehicles at Greene Wood Apartments. An Officer checked the area but did not locate anything out of the ordinary.
3:25pm: An Officer assisted a subject with receiving mental health treatment.
3:37pm: An Officer was advised of a fire alarm activation at 300 American Avenue. Prior to the Officer arriving, the alarm was determined to be “false”.
8:27pm: An Officer assisted a motorist in the 200 block of E. Lincoln Way.
******* An Officer issued Brandy Burrow, of Perry, Iowa, a citation for “Violation – Financial Liability Coverage”, after previously issuing a warning / repair order for the violation.
Saturday, June 18th
7:52am: An Officer assisted a motorist near 235th Street and Parkland Avenue.
8:01am: An Officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of South Oak Street in regards to a domestic altercation. The Officer is investigating the situation.
9:08am: An Officer responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident on South Elm Street, near West Madison Street. A gray 2001 Kawasaki Motorcycle, owned and operated by Donald Miner, of Jefferson, had been northbound on South Elm Street when the vehicle experienced a mechanical failure, causing the driver to lose control and subsequently crash. No damage to the vehicle was reported. The driver suffered possible minor injuries. The driver was issued a citation for “violation – financial liability – accident”.
1:42pm: Jim Hoyle reported a subject walking on old highway 30, near Parkland Avenue, that seemed to be a traffic hazard. An Officer checked the area, but did not locate the subject.
2:08pm: Officers assisted EMS at the Greene County Jail.
5:36pm: An Officer issued a Parking Violation to Gary Semjenow, of Urbandale, Iowa, for parking the wrong direction in the 300 block of East McKinley Street.
8:17pm: An Officer was called to Fareway in regards to an attempted theft. It was determined that the business did not incur a loss.
11:49pm: An Officer was called to Wild Rose Casino in regards to a subject who had fell down. The Officer spoke to the subject, and determined she was not in need of further assistance.
Sunday, June 19th
1:00am: Nellie Gustin reported a Bat in her residence. An Officer responded and removed it.
8:48am: An Officer was called to Fareway in regards to a possible theft that had occurred at an earlier time. The Officer is investigating.
9:38am: A traffic stop at West Madison and Georgia Street resulted in James Barnett, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for “Operating Non-Registered Vehicle”.
10:29am: An Officer was called to 701 North Cedar Street in regards to a domestic situation. The Officer determined that the incident had occurred in Scranton earlier in the day. The Officer detained a subject until a Greene County Deputy could investigate the situation. The Deputy subsequently arrested the subject.
2:07pm: An Officer was called to Casey’s General Store in regards to a theft (shop lifter). The Officer subsequently arrested Joann Laxson for Theft in the Fifth Degree.
5:37pm: Allison Tucker reported an unwanted person at her residence, and she wanted them removed. An Officer went to the residence and determined that the subject had already left.
5:56pm: An Officer assisted a motorist in the 100 block of South Elm Street.
8:31pm: A traffic stop in the 600 block of North Elm Street resulted in Rose Lehrkamp, of Scranton, being issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”.
10:51pm: A traffic stop in the 700 block of North Elm Street resulted in Gavin Felder, of Jamaica, being issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”.
10:55pm: A traffic stop in the 700 block of North Elm Street resulted in Austin McMichael, of Panora, being issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”.
Monday, June 20th
4:00am: While on patrol, an Officer discovered an unlocked business door at 701 West Wall Street. The Officer searched and secured the building.
4:28am: A traffic stop at North Grimmell and West Central resulted in Christopher Murphy, of Jefferson, being issued a citation for “Violation – Financial Liability Coverage”.
8:36am: Vernon Foje requested a welfare check on a subject in the 400 block of South Oak Street. The Officer determined that the subject was fine and no assistance was needed.
10:41am: Mary Hegstrom came to the Law Enforcement and spoke to an Officer in regards to civil situation. The Officer provided advice.
1:46pm: An Officer was advised of a burglary alarm activation at 300 American Avenue. The alarm was determined to be false.
2:17pm: Lyndsey Wathen reported a dog, in the 600 block of North Chestnut Street, that did not have food or water. An Officer checked the area but did not find the dog.
***** The following subjects were issued a “Parking Violation Notice – Street Sweeping” for being parked in the designated street sweeping area during the prohibited hours.

Tuesday, June 21st
1:00am: A parking citation was issued to Cory Fowler of Jefferson for “Parking – Wrong Direction” near the intersection of West South Street and South Oak Street.
6:20am: Louis Dreyfus of Grand Junction requested a welfare check on an employee who had not shown up for work. The Officer preformed the welfare check and advised the employer of the outcome.
6:30am: An anonymous caller advised of dogs running loose in the 300 block of Edgewood Avenue. The Officer was busy with a priority call at the time and unable to immediately respond.
7:07am: The Boone County Sheriff’s Office requested a Jefferson Officer speak with a male in Jefferson regarding an investigation they were involved in. The Officer made contact and passed the information onto the Boone County Deputy.
7:24am: Allen Rowedder of Jefferson reported a raccoon in the 1200 block of Southfield Drive. The caller was concerned the animal may be sick. The Officer was unable to immediately respond due to a separate call. When the Officer checked the area, she did not locate the animal.
9:38am: The Jefferson Police Department assisted the Greene County Ambulance Service and the Greene County Medical Examiner with a reported unattended death in the 100 block of West Wilcox Way. All collected information was given to the Greene County Medical Examiner.
2:54pm: Jill Mills of Jefferson reported concerns for a dog left in the back of a truck in the Fareway parking lot. The Officer checked on the animal and found it in good health with shelter and access to fresh air.

Wednesday, June 22nd
2:52pm: While on patrol a Jefferson Officer noticed grass clippings in the roadway in the 1600 block of North Grimmell in violation of City Ordinance. The Officer addressed the issue.
3:10pm: While on patrol a Jefferson Officer noticed two persons riding skateboards in the traveled portion of the roadway near the intersection of North Grimmell / West Central. The Officer spoke with the two.
5:16pm: A Jefferson Officer performed a traffic stop in the 1600 block of North Grimmell Road. As a result of the traffic stop, Emily Mauricio of Coon Rapids was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”
6:06pm: An anonymous caller reported a reckless driver approaching Jefferson eastbound
on 220th Street. The vehicle was described as a white truck with a flatbed trailer. The Officer was unable to locate the reported vehicle.
6:35pm: A Jefferson Officer was dispatched to County Wide Electric, 401 East Central Street for an alarm activation. The Officer checked the property and found nothing suspicious. The alarm was reset and the Officer left the property.
9:27pm: A Jefferson Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of 220th Street and M. Avenue. As a result of the traffic stop, Zakary Olsen of Perry was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”
9:52pm: Claudette Sherlock requested a welfare check on the animals being kept at 905 South Elm Street. The Officer checked on the animals and found them in good health.

Alexis Jordan of Grand Junction for Theft in the 5th Degree – Simple Misdemeanor
****** As a result of an investigation started on June 18 th, 2022, a warrant was requested for Edwin Wade of Jefferson for Domestic Abuse Assault – 1st Offense – Serious Misdemeanor
