Mary J. Barnett Memorial Library is wrapping up their summer reading program after a full month of fun activities.

Director Jeri Hawkins says that on June 27th from 12:30-2pm will be the last program that will include a prize day and the Guthrie County Extension Office STEM Activity. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio about her first summer reading program as the library director.

I just love seeing the kids come in with their smiles on their faces and excited about the new stuff we have going on and They got to build a tent out in the yard even though it was a hot day. They just really enjoyed it. And I just love seeing it. Kids are getting to experience things, you wouldn’t think they’d get to experience. So it’s just so much fun for me.”

Hawkins says they had over 30 kids signed up to the reading program and anyone can attend their last program without being registered.
