Friday night saw redemption for the West Central Valley softball team. After their two doubleheader losses against the Van Meter Bulldogs, the Wildcats traveled to Des Moines North on Friday and had a very impressive game against the Polar Bears, winning by the mercy rule in the third.

The Wildcats started the attack strong in the first inning, racking up 13 runs, before scoring 1 run in the second inning, and 4 runs in the third, to end the game 18-0.

The hits and runs batted in leader for the Wildcats was junior Kamryn Nourse, who had 4 hits, a batting average of 1.000, 3 runs, 6 runs batted in, 1 double base hit, and 2 triple base hits. Fellow junior Marissa Hagen led the way in the pitching categories, with an earned run average of 0, 2 innings pitched, and 4 strikeouts.
