The Perry Community School District was named as a recipient of the Teacher and Paraeducator Registered Apprenticeship Pilot Program.
The program aims to give current high school students and adults the opportunity to earn a paraeducator certificate and associate’s degree. Additionally, current paraeducators can earn their bachelor’s degree while learning and working in the classroom.
The school district was awarded $745,557 to go toward the program which will begin its implementation in the fall of the upcoming school year. Also, the Johnston Community School District received $3,681,641 which partners with Dallas Center-Grimes along with other schools which will receive funds.
