A candidate running in the Republican primary for a position on Capitol Hill visited Raccoon Valley Radio’s station in Stuart on Thursday.
Gary Leffler is running to be on Iowa’s Third Congressional District ticket for the possibility to face incumbent Cindy Axne. Leffler says that he is the only congressional candidate that has owned and operated a farm along with spending 25 years in financial services and he has worked in construction. Leffler explained why he entered the race for Congress.
“You know, you can sit on the sideline or you say you know what coach put a uniform on me, get me in the game and let’s see what we can do. So that’s where we kind of decided enough of the complaining on the sidelines.”
Leffler told Raccoon Valley Radio he is a pro border control, pro-life, pro-military and pro-agriculture. He said a big priority of his is dealing with inflation.
“Well obviously what’s first and foremost on everyone’s minds right now is this inflation thing, people are paying way more.”
Leffler rode into Stuart on his patriotic tractor that he takes everywhere.
