Greene County Extension is offering another workshop for area youth ahead of this year’s Greene County Fair.
Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway tells Raccoon Valley Radio 4-H’ers and Clover Kids are encouraged to attend the photography workshop at the Extension office on Thursday from 5-7pm. She says a photography expert will teach participants the basics of photography and then you will take pictures uptown. She adds, participants will then come back to the Extension office, fill out paperwork for the county fair and those kids will have an entry completed before the county fair in July.
Hardaway says she was inspired to continue to do these types of workshops because of the success of the first one in April with the $15 Challenge.
“That project was really successful. We had 19 youth signed up for that workshop during Extension Week. So a lot of kids were able to come up to ShineOn Design/More Time, pick out their outfits, and then we walked back to the office, filled out all the paperwork. So those kids are ready to go to fair and it’s still months away.”
The workshop is free and registration is encouraged by contacting the Extension office in Jefferson at 515-386-2138.
