The second day of the Iowa High School State Coed Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines saw much cooler temperatures on Friday, but like, Thursday, there were many outstanding performances. Greene County had five events in competition, three on the boys’ side and two for girls, all in Class 2A.
First up for the Rams was Nate Black in the high jump.
Jackson Morton ran the preliminary of the 110 meter high hurdles.
The first girls’ event for the Rams was the 4 x 200 meter relay final with Olivia Shannon, Katrina Heupel, Natalie Heupel, and Bella Schroeder.
Morton followed up the short hurdles race with the 400 meter low hurdles final.
The last Greene County event Friday was the girls’ 4 x 100 meter relay prelim with Shannon, the Heupel twins, and Schroeder.
